This networking event is undertaken by World Youth Foundation in collaboration with Indonesian Green Action Forum, International Youth Council, UNMGCY and Green Growth Asia.
World Youth Foundation hopes that this partnership will bring together partners and resource persons to exchange ideas, initiatives and projects conducted in their respective institutions and countries, especially youth-led and youth focused programmes focusing on the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 11, 13, 15 and 17.
Young people are at the core of economic growth in rapidly urbanizing cities and towns. They are also the key to social development. However, today's urban agenda often neglects the central role young people play in building sustainable cities. More often than not, young people are not included as important stakeholders as they are not seen as positive 'drivers' of change.
During the session, we hope to share best practices undertaken to engage, educate and empower young people to come up with sustainable projects for a more sustainable and green urban city. The expected outcomes of the events are to actualize the implementation of New Urban Agenda commitments 65, 71, 79, and 101 through green actions. We hope to engage urban youths on actualizing their initiatives on ecological sustainability and the reduction of GHGs in cities into actions through partnerships.
