Networking Events Saturday 10 February 2018, 15:00 - 17:00

Room 405

Organizations

Lead organization:
  • Global Platform for the Right to the City
Partners:
  • Polis Institute, Kota Kita, Housing International Coalition (HIC), Huairou Commission, ActionAid India and YUVA India

Summary

The event aims to have a general good understanding and subsequent map of ongoing activities, initiatives and practical projects the members of the Global Platform for the Right to the City (GPR2C) are already carrying out on the ground which focus on implementing the SDGs and the NUA directives. Beyond that, the goal is also to identify synergies and commonalities among projects that could potentialize their reach and effectiveness. As outcome, we expect to have: a cohesive and organized map of initiatives from member organizations, highlighting their scope of impact within a SDG metric and following NUA guidelines; identify potential common points between initiatives, carried out by different organizations, fostering and strengthening productive synergies and further collaborations and cooperation - categorization and grouping of initiatives by different axes, such as geographical, thematic, target groups, among others; have member organizations internalize that their work is already within the Right to the City framework and also following NUA guidelines and moving forward in achieving SDGs. The methodology will adopt a participative approach in order to involve all attendants and to consolidate a collective perspective in the mapping process.
